IgnatiouI, Andreas Ignatiou, support the GGC Panel Parity Pledge.

As the Permanent Representative of the Mission of Cyprus to the United Nations in Geneva, I commit to also undertake the following:

  • To ensure that delegations (of more than one official) representing the Republic of Cyprus before Human Rights Council and Treaty Bodies Mechanisms, will always contain at least one female member in their composition. 
  • To ensure that at least 50% of Cyprus’s statements in the UPR process shall be delivered by a female member of the Mission’s staff.
  • To continue supporting all initiatives in the Human Rights Council that aim at strengthening gender equality, provided that their language is sufficiently ambitious.
