Founder and Executive Chairman | World Economic Forum

prof-klaus-schwab“The World Economic Forum will continue to promote gender equality as a core value for humanity and as one of the pathways to inclusive economic progress.”

I, Klaus Schwab, support the GGC Panel Parity Pledge.

As the Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, I commit to also undertake the following:

  • Through the Forum’s pioneering analysis, provide the global community an opportunity to compare the relative position of women and men in economies across the globe and to learn from the latest insights on how to close gender gaps.
  • Through the Forum’s collaborations with selected countries and industry sectors, develop public-private partnerships to accelerate change on closing gender gaps.
  • Achieve gender parity in all our communities where we have full discretion about community composition and to strive for gender parity where we have no or limited control over community composition.
  • Continue to support innovative efforts to promote gender equality through our intellectual leadership and our platform, such as the Girl Effect campaign and the comprehensive EDGE certification for companies
  • Continue to actively support the development of our workforce through our learning and development practices. Enable our employees to achieve a healthy work-life balance through continued review and benchmarking of our policies.
  • Continue to monitor with an independent external auditor, our principles and practices to ensure we apply equitable wage policies between men and women and ensure fair, gender neutral promotion decisions.
  • Continue to strive for gender parity on our panels while balancing stakeholder representation and geographical, age and opinion diversity.
  • Through the Forum’s social media platforms and website, reaching nearly 9 million people directly, continue to share data, infographics and opinion pieces promoting gender parity.
