“It is of utmost importance for the Global Apprenticeships Network to ensure that the youth of today – both young women and men alike – see a future of viable employment opportunities. By encouraging young women to begin their careers as apprentices, we can provide them with the opportunity to excel in traditionally male professions (i.e. STEM fields) and create an avenue for more women to reach the boardroom.”
I, Shea Gopaul, support the GGC Panel Parity Pledge.
As the Executive Director of the Global Apprenticeships Network, I commit to also undertake the following:
- In partnership with GAN Member Companies, shed light on professions traditionally lacking women (i.e. STEM careers) through an annual panel discussion and/or workshop, with an aim for Member Companies to increase recruitment of young women.
- Promote gender parity and raise awareness by featuring gender-related issues at least once per month in GAN communication channels, i.e. newsletters, social media and formal outreach.
